Kind Words

Kind words make such good echoes.
They touch one person and then move on.
Until the echo reverberates all around,
Soon telling others of the happy sound.
People giving loving gifts of kind words!

Kind words make people feel so good.
Echoes come back to you unchanged.
Nothing added, deleted or re-arranged.
Words reverberate as you hear the sound.
God loves it when kind words are found!

Kind words are like music to the ears.
Speak as you would like to be spoken to.
God’s word instructs you what to do.
When angry words are hurled at you
The Spirit speaks words through you too!

Kind words start your day out right.
Setting your sights on God’s daily path.
A soft answer soon turneth away wrath.
Living for God teaches us how we can give
Witness as Christians so others too can live!

Ephesians 4:31 & 32   “Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”

Our Lives

Our lives are like songs
But God writes each word.
Set to the music of His will
The sweetest ever heard.
We can conduct our lives to the
Music created for His pleasure.
Each beat we can choose to fashion
Each and every measure.
And the songs can be sad, or
They can be sweet and glad.
It depends upon the amount of time
We have spent with God alone.

My Sufficiency

You, Oh Lord, art my encourager.
You lift me up when I am down
You establish my coming and going.
You, Oh Lord, art my sufficiency.

You, Oh Lord, give me sustenance.
You fill my mind with Your word.
You art my source, my tributary.
My heart craves Your approval.

You, Oh Lord, art all that I need.
For You have given me forgiveness
Through the travail of the cross.
What an all-sufficient God You are!

My Church Family

My church family helps me to keep a sky in my life
              and to always look up.
My church shows me how I can keep my hand in God’s
and to hold on to Him.
My church seeks to see eternal values above the material
              and to extemporize to others.
My church family seeks to live life above self to
              worship and serve Christ.
My church family endeavours to see the good in others,
              to acknowledge and praise it.
My church family endeavours to keep sweet and to
              keep busy for Him.
My church seeks to have a seeing eye, a feeling heart,
              and a helping hand.
My church family sees others needs and meets them
              in praying and serving ways.
My church endeavours to test the motive of life and
              to choose the best,
To do justly, love mercy, and to walk humbly
              before our God.

God's Word

Scriptures are guideposts showing the way.
They are also the Spirit's guide when we pray.
Words penned by man but inspired by God.
Ensuring in battle our feet are well shod.

Scriptures tell of God’s love revealing the cost
That was paid for our sins, His Son on the cross.
The Bible is a shining light pointing the way,
And it is the words therein leading us to pray.

Scriptures are the way we learn and we grow.
So precious is God’s word, we need to know
God’s word ordains and the Spirit sustains,
Food for our minds and heaven still remains.

Scriptures need to be  hidden in our hearts,
That way when Satan throws his fiery darts
The Spirit gives answers from God’s word,
We respond with what we’ve read and heard.

“Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against Thee.”

Hope

You, my Redeemer, give me such hope!
You bring joy after sorrow, peace after anxiety.
You who offers mercy after waywardness.
You who serves as my refuge in trouble.
You gather me up when I am in pain,
You ease my afflictions with Your words.

Weeping only endure but for a season,
But joy surely comes in the morning!
You have taught me to trust in You,
And not rely on the promises of men.
This world is not my home; here I serve,
I long for the day I will kneel before You!

I gather up ‘hope’ as a treasure in my hands.
And I warm it daily with Your Words.
It is as sweet savour, food for my body.
Nourishment for my mind which desires
To dwell on Your promises, for therein
Is the blessed hope of eternity with You!

Our Church

Our church has a heart that beats as one.
We all work together until a job is done.
It does not matter who gets the credit,
For no-one is standing over us to edit.

Here at our church there’s give and take.
We all unite together when we celebrate.
We share the burdens and divide the grief,
We are united together as one in our belief.

We love one another despite our mistakes
Because we believe our God undertakes.
There is joy in doing and love in giving,
God left us His word to teach about living.

We want to tell others about Jesus Christ,
How He died on the cross, His sacrifice.
His great commission is leading us on.
We won’t rest until our work here is done.

Amen

Ephesians 4: 11 - 15 ~ “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, to the building up of the body of Christ;
Until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. As a result we are no longer to be children, tosses here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ.”  NAS
