Until the Whole World Shouts His Name

Withered, old and the leaves float from the sky.
Crisp, veined, curled, it crackles in my hand.
By Fall its purpose is over, it separates from the tree.
             GOD’S MARVELOUS PLAN!
Underfoot we find vast numbers of dying leaves.
We could easily say, that their use is over, and yet
             GOD’S PLAN ALL ALONG!
It has just begun, for dying it becomes new food.
Correctly used it can now compost until the Spring.
When it is needed in the garden to begin a new cycle.
                GOD IS AMAZING!
That of preparation for fresh growth, awaking earth.
So many life cycles and we take them for granted.
Yet God set the planets in space and yet placed His hand.
                GOD IS ALL ENCOMPASSING!
Upon the smallest snowflake which He has designed
We don’t take the time to look, to study and marvel.
At this amazing universe that He has created for us.
GOD I MUST STOP AND PRAISE YOU!
We could start by praising Him for our awesome planet.
And marvel at the miracle of birth, a newborn baby.
We still focus on the leaves and the necessity of recycling.
GOD WE FOCUS NOT UPON YOU!
The work they cause when we need to sweep them away.
So many things we miss as time flies by and we fail,
To see His awesome purpose and design in our world.
GOD YOU CREATED FOR US TO ENJOY!
How detailed are you God, how beautiful Your design.
If we could but open up the shell of an egg, and look
At its three parts, we would once more be astonished.
GOD HAS A PURPOSE IN EVERYTHING!
That our God can explain the Trinity in a simple egg.
He not only created us to praise Him, but to open
Up our eyes to our surroundings, to think and to reason.
GOD HAS A PLAN FOR US!
From the sky above us to the earth beneath our feet.
Are vast unexplored reasons to believe there is a God.
We who are His followers are enfolded in His purpose.
              GOD WILL OVERCOME!
He will prove Himself ever faithful to His promises.
This world is His and all that is in it shouts His name.
Remember the old leaf, remember you have a purpose!

              GOD IS VICTORIOUS!  Amen

Am I Genuine

Do I surrender myself to be used of God
or just proclaim that to be my desire?

Do I continue on as just an empty shell
while I boldly ask God to light my fire?

Is the outward sign that I show to others
the inward evidence of a changing me?

Am I living my life as a white-washed mask
fearful to show you the genuine me?

Is the Jesus in me truly shining through or
do I try to produce His image on an empty screen?

Am I a false prophet claiming to be a seeker of truth
or simply a poor actor in a walk-on part?

Do I merely strut my lines across the stage of life
or have I truly given God all of my heart?

For one tires so easily of having to perform in life
what in breathing does not come naturally to me.

If God is not the very essence of my life
how can I possibly share Him with you?

It does not take long in the bustle of life
until the genuine comes shining through.

God separates the wheat from the chaff
with a quick breath and brush of hand.

An act can be played out only so long
before the real person you begin to see.

I’d rather be God’s person deep in my heart
and not what you are thinking of me.

To be conformed to the image of Christ
is what I am genuinely wanting to be.

Psalm 37: 23 - 24  - “The Lord directs the steps of the godly.  He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.”

1 Peter 1:7 - “These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold - though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials , it will bring you much praise and glory and honour on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.”

Being Grateful

When you look at others, and feel that they have more,
And in comparing, you sadly think that you are poor.
It is time to take a walk along the other side of the street.
Look around you, and really regard everyone that you meet.

You will see that it is not possessions that make us feel blessed.
Counting our blessings, being grateful, that makes us happy.
We need to learn that it is the sweet simple things in life
That make us happy, releasing praise, and erasing strife.

We cannot live our lives inward; we will surely take a fall.
Living life outside ourselves helps us listen for God’s call.
Doing things for others, opens our eyes to be able to see.
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life allowing us to  really “be”

The person God wants, unlocking our hearts to love everyone.
God wants to use our lives as a testimony sharing His Son.

Proverbs 28:20   “A faithful man will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not
go unpunished.”
Proverbs 10:9   “A man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out.”

Matthew 6:33  “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

The Mystery of Faith

That invisible, mystifying quantity so difficult to understand.
You long to reach out, and grasp it, holding it tightly in your hand.
Why did God give us this requirement, this edict for us all to see?
Is in the release of this faith balloon, meant to set our spirits free?

God’s word tells us, He uses the simple things to confound our mind.
Is it in the forfeit of our struggles, finally that peace we often find?
A faith affirming vow we make, giving back our love and trust to God.

“Faith is substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”
Above in that ethereal world God is guiding our steps to learn to lean
On the only one that can fulfill that promise made to us long ago.
How else could He prove His love for us and let the whole world know?

Reach out and grasp it, use it,  do not let go of your gift of faith.
Breath on your mustard seed of faith, climb a mountain keep it safe.
Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually occur.
Steep yourself in God’s word, it is a command and we all concur.

Satan wants to steal your shield of faith; it is his victory plan
or without it he has destroyed God’s greatest gift for man.

Acts 16:31   “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.”
Hebrews 11:1   “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.”
Hebrews 11:6   “It is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to Him must believe that God exists and that He rewards those who sincerely seek Him.”

Colossians 2:7   “Let your roots grow down into Him, and let your lives be built on Him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.”

Accumulation

Go ahead, accumulate, don’t hesitate.
Shopping sprees are really great!
The more you earn the more you need.
Time for God’s reality to intercede.

God gives us advice, often we ignore.
That is what His Word is really for.
Pretty things are not considered greed.
We’re buying what we really need.

Everyone has a big T.V. and Video
You feel justified to “Pay as you Go”
The sand of time runs through upon hands,
Then you leave this earth with empty hands,

You depart this world like whence you came

Naked, leaving all signed over in your name.

My God and I

My God and I walk slowly hand in hand.
Upon the sea shore, so firm is the sand
It shifts not, under our moving feet,
As we smile at everyone that we meet.
There is no worry during our morning walk.
As the sun strikes the sea we happily talk.
No beauteous sight will you ever see!
God allows His Spirit to commune with me.

The tide advances swiftly, but no fear have I
For I can hear a solitary gull’s strong cry.
The eddy of wind can let him soar free.
Surely any dangers the Spirit will see.
I walk only by faith and not by my sight.
Trusting God for my future, all seems bright.
Oh yes storms may come on life’s choppy seas.

But you will handle them best upon your knees.

Philippians 4: 6 - 7 “Don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

Complaints

Winter’s sky alas doth oft reach down.
Clouds roll in which causeth us to frown.
Gird your loins, and guard your minds.
Satan works harder when depression he finds.
If your mind is craving some Summer sun,
His interest in your thought life hath just begun.
He offers complaints on a golden platter.
You pass them on and it starts to really matter!
At the end of yet another long and  dreary day,
You finally need to sit down and start to pray.
What doth surround us the question of “Why”?
Satan feeds your mind, being so subtle and sly.

The more you look around the more it seems grim.
Soon enough you begin to grumble and that is a sin.
You are now aware bitterness and strife is part of you.
Friends avoid you now because they know it is true.
Complaints that began with weather suddenly grow.
You start to look around you, judging people you know.
Complaints about inclement weather caused you to sin.
Discontent is now rampant, see the state we are in!
But, stop and consider, where did it all begin?
If your attitude starts to change because of “no sun”
Take your eyes off the world and praise God’s Son.

Psalm 42:45 - 6   “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise Him again --my Saviour and my God.”
