This is a time of reflection and deep
introspection.
One is searching the heart and doing an
inspection.
Has my life been worth the pain of Christ’s
sacrifice?
Would anyone of us be willing to pay the price
For any child of ours who is rejecting the way?
For without Christ’s precious gift we all would
pay.
The wages of sin, we would be sentenced
therein.
Lent is a time of prayer and unrelenting focus
Focusing on the example Christ was in Damascus.
Reflecting on His miraculous healings as if you
were there.
Amazing restorations of families that showed His
care.
If you are intent on giving something up
for Lent,
Self righteousness is something you need to
circumvent.
Remember some of Christ’s last worlds before he
died.
“Forgive them for they know not what they do.”
Nothing you deny yourself in Lent will save you.
Ensure your motives are those simply of
remembering.
When you give up favourite things you are not
trying
To build up points to buy favour to use when you
are dying.
Christ paid the whole price on the cross when He
died,
If you apply works He need not have been
crucified.
Ephesians 2:8 ~ “For by grace are ye saved
through faith; and not that of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
Galatians 6:3 ~ “For if a man think himself to
be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.”
John 1:29 ~ “The next day John seeth Jesus
coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins
of the world.”
