This is Faith

The safely anchored trust that is at the core of all Godly things.
Goodness, animating strength that flows from exhaustless springs.
There is no star that is unguided down the rings of that endless maze.
No feet tread an aimless path throughout wastes of empty days.
Trusting in that everlasting voice, the glad calm voice that saith
That order grows out of chaos, and life is born anew from death.
From the wreck of rending stars, behind the storms and scathe
There dwells a heart of inner calm - and this, yes this, is true faith.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:7 ~ “ For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
  • Galatians 3:26 ~ “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Jesus Christ.”
  • Ephesians 3: 17 - 19 ~ “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded by love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth and height. And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.”

Prophesy

You artistically placed the firmament in the sky.
And we marvel amazed how, and wonder why
You accurately designed the skies so perfectly
For man to stand in awe and praise Thee?

You carefully set the sun and moon in place.
Even astronomers and those who fly in space
Ponder positions, some submit, bow to Your grace.
For if the sun and moon were nor accurately placed
Earth would have burned up if but a fraction misplaced.

The eclipse of the sun and another blood red moon.
Does this mean Oh Lord that you’re coming soon?

Even man has begun to prophesy disasters more,
Man needs to wake up and acknowledge Thee,
For a time will soon come when all will see.
Christ will return and this time come victoriously.
And all mankind will bow and bend his knee.
Acknowledging that this too was prophesy.

“Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus.

  • Hebrews 3:14 ~ “If we are faithful to the end, trusting God just as firmly as when we first believed, we will share in all that belongs to Christ.”
  • 2 Peter 3:10 ~ “But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar, the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and every thing in it will be laid bare.
  • 2 Peter 3:12 “As you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming, that day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
  • 2 Peter 3: 14 ~ “So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with Him. Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation.”
  • Isaiah 60:19 ~ “The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, Verse 20 ~ “Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more.

Living for Another Day

Are you also a culprit of looking and living for tomorrow?
Not living life day by day, always looking what is to follow?
Does the minutiae of life cause you to create “Things to Do?”
Is the future and not living in the present always eating at you?

I admit my guilt in not living my life just for this single day.
I need to stop, and replace future plans, thanking You for today.
“Lord, You promised me a future in heaven”, I need to relax.
When I get anxious I start to read your word it has every fact.

“Be anxious for nothing”, Your word tells me just exactly so.
You also wrote, “Tomorrow will take care of itself”, I know.
So why don’t I just place tomorrow’s work, put it on a shelf;
Start to leave my lists; You said tomorrow will care for itself.

I know Satan is enjoying my frustration, but I will make him pay!
I want to learn to live my life just from day to day, Your way.

“Is my requirement to perform, the desire to always succeed?
The carnal woman still working within,, still  desiring to accede?
“Use me today Lord, set my priorities so they align with Your word.
Happier I will be if I apply all the lessons that I have always heard.

There will always be so much work to do, most of it not for You.
Lord, could You teach me Your way so that I can remain true.
I’m older now, but am I wiser, daily surrendering my every need?
I want to put Your word first and I pray Your Spirit will intercede.

My schedule each day needs to be attuned to Your Spirit’s call.
Not to the housework, or cooking, or so-called worthy lists to recall.
When the load of work gets too heavy, or it is overwhelming me
I think it is because the goals I set cloud the way I need to be.

It is all daily, wifely bores and chores that seem to burden me so.
The birds build their nests in the spring and work hard that I know.
You care for us more, and You provide each and every need.
Obviously birds do not write lists so I need You to plant the seed.
Amen

Psalm 46:~1 & 2: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will we not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.”
I Peter: ~ 5:7 : Casting all your care upon Him for He careth for You.”
Psalm: ~ 40:4 : “Blessed is the man that maketh the Lord his trust.”
Psalm 32:7: ~ : “Thou are my hiding place; Thou shalt preserve me from trouble; Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.”
Matthew 6:34: ~ :”Therefore do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Matthew 6:26, 27 & 28 “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life.

Your Own Version of the Gospel

You are daily writing your own gospel.
This is the gospel according to you.
A chapter is written every single day,
By the works and deeds that you do.
You cannot give counsel to others
If not living the gospel so others see Christ
With every word that you say and pray.

People read what you write in your gospel,
Whether it be faithless or true, they can tell.
Soon your life tells its own version of the Bible.
And like God they will see the genuine you.
You cannot change what God says to suit you.
God’s word is powerful when applied to your life.
But do not deviate from this daily guide from God.

Its instruction is as relevant now as ever before.
Wise is he who memorizes God’s instruction,
Or carries a copy of God’s word close by his side.
For God says we should write it on our hearts.
Your daily walk is really  God’s revealing talk.
To win others to Christ, it is Him they should see.
When you die to self, the more alive in Him you’ll be..

Isaiah 55:10 & 11 ~ “The rain and the snow comes down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow ,producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.”

Genesis 4:7 ~ “You will be accepted if you do what is right, but if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”

Why I Need My Bible

I delve into its pages and I find power for the ordering of my life.
I search out subjects which bring reassurance that I am walking aright.
It offers me an escape from the perils which threaten our modern lives.
Within its pages I find secrets by which I walk in the light; it gives me hope.
It tells me over and over, in all chapters, how precious we are to God.
It shows us the way we can reach out and teach world brotherhood to all.
It tells me wither I am bound God walks with me at all times every day.
What assurance that gives me, it induces me to bend my knees and pray.
But I cannot live on “If Only’s” I must dry my tears and travel onwards.

Without my Bible I would not have a road map of how I am to live.
I cannot argue God’s word because over and over I have found it true.
Daily life is much easier when I read God’s word before I begin my day.
Why did I not start this practice sooner, why did I not learn how to pray.
Walking daily in God’s Spirit is the natural, much easier Godly way.
Oh Lord, why did I waste years rushing to and fro’ wasting my time,
When submitting my all to you would have been to You a Godly sign,
That I had begun to give to You my all, submitting everything to Thee.

You could have molded me sooner into the woman You wanted me to be.

There are no tears in heaven,
Only joy lifts those above.

Surrounded by peace and love.

There are no worries in heaven.
They are left down here below.

Reaping What You Sow

The Bible speaks so many times about reaping what you sow.
There are parables Jesus taught us that surely we all know.
When you think of sowing, all sorts of things come to mind.
Sowing seeds of tenderness must surely mean you are kind.
But winds can blow and scatter the most hardiest of seeds.
Those that dig in and travel so, surely they are but weeds!
Roots that require digging out from lots of wayward places.
You need to dig deep, getting right down to their very bases!

To ensure a better harvest one needs to prepare the ground.
Seeds just left, untended with no caring sower to be found.
No water, which is important in order for seeds to germinate.
Sowing takes much patience too, we need to be able to wait
Seeds scattered on stony ground will never go down deep.
Birds come and eat the seeds, especially if the ground is steep
Other seeds burn amidst the rocks wedged along the wayside.
Just like man you will find you need some form of pesticide.

How like our lives sowing is if we want to garner a harvest..
We will reap just what we sow if we live a life of excess.
God’s word says, “Those that plow evil and those who
Sow trouble will surely reap it”, and “Sow the wind and
Reap a whirlwind”, so many scripture verses tell us to beware.
Jesus warns us of these things so that we can take more care.
For in our lives things come along that can destroy our serve.
We must be vigilant, looking around, learning to observe.

SO MANY VERSES!
CHALLENGE YOU today to take the time to look them up and learn from them like I did. It will surely create lots of thought about sowing and reaping in your lives.

Hebrews 12:11 ~ 2 Corinthians 9:10 ~ James 3:18 ~ Luke 10:2 ~ Matthew 9:37 ~ Deuteronomy 16:15, Matthew 13:18 ~ Job 4:8 ~ Hebrews 8:7 ~ John 4:36 ~ Isaiah 3:18 ~ Hosea 8:7 ~ Matthew 13:18

Finding God's Balance

God does not care about our wealth or our bank balance,
Or our fine homes, fancy clothing or our fast shiny cars.
He does care that we find in living, and relaxing, a balance.
We work and we play, and we have so much to do and say,

Why did it take me so long to learn about God’s balance?

In our caring and sharing, witnessing and worship too,
Why does my scale tip to one side with God’s balance?
Christ came to this earth to give us a more abundant life,
It is the abundance of “things” that throws me off balance.

If I could but clear the deck of busily caring for things,
I’d reach the serenity of my mind that brings a balance.
Things are supposed to make are lives easier and happier
In accumulating I have lost what God does with balance.

All our lives we are taught to reach out and to achieve,
But somehow along the way we forget about balance.
I freely admit I get caught up in the ebb and flow of life
Thinking little of what God’s word has said about balance.

It does not have to be mediocrity, it needs to be priority,

A proverbial “To Do” list maker is her own worst enemy,
Because she refuses to give in and accept God’s balance.
Human nature can be an awesome and terrifying thing
It can take control; we do not listen to the voice of balance.

I am to blame for putting other things first before Christ,
Forgive me Lord, I do not adhere to your word about balance.
Each day I have to start anew and prioritize my daily work,
Or I will I fall into the trap of not living with God’s balance.

Chaos occurs when trying to achieve perfection in all things.

Isaiah 2:3 ~ “And He will teach us His ways, and we will walk in His paths....”

Psalm 37:7 ~ “Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way.”

Galatians 6:8 ~ “For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit real life everlasting.”

Hebrews 13:5 ~ “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee or forsake thee.``

Proverbs 21:5 ``The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but to everyone that is hasty only to want.

Lord, You are Amazing!

You, Oh Lord, were able to calm the sea of Galilee,
Surely if I ask, You if you will calm the storm in me!
You urged me to come to You if I was weary or lost,
So I come to You now Lord, without counting the cost.
For to serve You, Lord, requires surrender of myself.
My way needs to step aside and be put on the shelf.
I promised to serve You Lord, for all of my days.
But self just keeps fighting Thee in so many ways.

You, Oh Lord, are forgiving and Your wisdom is true.
Your unfailing love tells me You know best what to do.
You see my needs before I ask, and You meet them.
You say “No” or “Wait a While”; I needs must say “Amen”.
You see ahead, and if I want You to lead, I need to follow.
Submitting to Your will in my life I have a better tomorrow.
Jesus, if  I knew what I know now about Your loving grace,
I would rest, and dwell on Your word, look upon Your face.

Lord, You are amazing! Your word is all that I need.
It is still sufficient for today, and that I readily concede.
When ‘ere I open up Your word it brings me consolation.
I want others to know of Thee, tell to every single nation.
And when at last my time on earth is drawing to its close,
I’ll still tell others You are the way, “Jesus always knows”.
I will readily sing Your praises to whomever will listen,
Jesus You broke the power over death, for You have risen!

Ephesians 6:24 ~ “Grace be with them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity.”
John 14:21 ~ “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”
Zephaniah 3:17 ~ ‘’The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save, He will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.”
Proverbs 1;23 ~ “Behold I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.”

Psalm 73:26 ~ “My strength and my heart faileth; but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

Getting the Most of our Your Bible

Don’t start reading the word when you are tired or annoyed.
Come to the Word expectantly or your time will be destroyed.
Always ensure you have no unconfessed sins in your heart.
God hates sin, and it blocks freedom before you even start.

If you wish to have two versions to help you understand easier,
No more than using a dictionary means you are generally lazier.
Surrender to the truths written there having an attitude of prayer.
Expect that you are going to use the truths that are written there.

Take time, though you are often rushed, breath in ready to learn.
Far better you know what the Spirit wants you to be able to discern.
Always be direct, you can ask the Spirit to reveal new things to you.
Come to the word wanting the Spirit to tell you what you can do.

If your attitude is one of anger at someone you know that is a sin.
Don`t heap condemnation on a friend if that is the mood you are in.
Humble yourself before your God for we are all His Masterpiece.

How can you be angry if your feet are shod with the gospel of peace!

Happiness Is..

Nothing is between you and the Lord.
Living a life you can safely afford.
Knowing where to find books in the Bible.
Remembering verses, the address compatible.
A big hug at church from a smiling man,
Just love in the Lord, and you’re a woman!
A new CD of praise and it’s just your style.
Time to put your feet up and listen, and smile.
Praying with your partner, and on the same line.
Agreement in prayer makes you feel so fine!
A good night’s sleep, so no regrets to keep
You awake because you sow what you reap.
Singing a song and the Spirit touches you.
Tears flow; what joy to see what God can do!
Happiness is having a church home that shows

The love of Jesus Christ, and that love grows!

AN IDEA: Be together, make a cup of tea or coffee, and sit and think of all the good things in the Lord, and then ask yourself the same question that I did ...   “HAPPINESS IS ......”
AND ...... Send me some of the things that come to your mind. I CHALLENGE YOU !

I John 1:7   “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”
Job 5:17   “Behold, how happy is the man whom God reproves, so do not despise the ‘discipline of the Almighty.”
Psalm 14:21   “He who despises his neighbour sins, but happy is he who is gracious to the poor.”
Proverbs 14:9  “But among the upright there is good will.”
Proverbs 14:18  “The prudent are crowned with knowledge.
Proverbs 13:22  “A good man leaves an inheritance for his children’s children.

The Way of the Pilgrim

He who walks the way of the pilgrim is he whose heart is rooted in prayer.
To be rooted in prayer one has to learn to live the life of a pilgrim a wanderer.
We are in this world but not of it; we are longing for our permanent home.
Our pilgrimages are not to a holy place of this world but rooted in the next.
We have a known destination, and do not wander around this world of ours,
‘Unless called by God to be a preacher or a missionary as a spiritual activity.’
To us, as evangelical Christians, our pilgrimage is to search out God more,
We trust completely in the Spirit’s guidance, and lean on God’s word.
Being a pilgrim is from the heart of man and reaches God’s very heart.
If we are doing it for recognition or public affirmation it is of nought.

The repetition of certain words prayed to God is not relevant enough.
The “pray without ceasing” Paul spoke of is the rejoicing evermore,
And the giving on thanks in all things which is the will of God in Christ.
Repetition of certain words gives no allowance to the moving of the Spirit.
For how can the Spirit of God bring things to your mind if you are just
Ensconced in the repetition of words; if the Spirit moves you to praise
God He will bring things to your mind which you need to acknowledge.
To just repeat “I confess”. “I confess” leaves no chance for the Spirit to
Speak to you with regards to restitution or works of service we need to do.
Christ does not want a pilgrimage of a thousand steps, He wants your heart.

God's House

Enter God’s house relevantly
Breathe in the music expectantly
Let the words seep into your heart.
Worship humbly honouring God.
Relax, be humble before the Lord.
Listen to the sermon thoughtfully.
Greet others cordially, and smile.
Remember, God’s house extends.
Leave the church body refreshed.
Let Christ to be part of your week.

I Chronicles 16: 29
Ascribe to the Lord the glory and strength, ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name, an offering, and come before Him; worship the Lord in the splendour of His holiness.

Romans 12:1
Therefore, I urge you, brothers , in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God ... this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is... His good, pleasing and perfect will.

John 4:24
God is spirit, and his worshiper must worship; in spirit and truth.

Lent

This is a time of reflection and deep introspection.
One is searching the heart and doing an inspection.
Has my life been worth the pain of Christ’s sacrifice?
Would anyone of us be willing to pay the price
For any child of ours who is rejecting the way?
For without Christ’s precious gift we all would pay.
The wages of sin, we would be sentenced therein.

Lent is a time of prayer and unrelenting focus
Focusing on the example Christ was in Damascus.
Reflecting on His miraculous healings as if you were there.
Amazing restorations of families that showed His care.
If you are intent on giving something up for Lent,
Self righteousness is something you need to circumvent.
Remember some of Christ’s last worlds before he died.

“Forgive them for they know not what they do.”
Nothing you deny yourself in Lent will save you.
Ensure your motives are those simply of remembering.
When you give up favourite things you are not trying
To build up points to buy favour to use when you are dying.
Christ paid the whole price on the cross when He died,
If you apply works He need not have been crucified.

Ephesians 2:8 ~ “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and not that of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
Galatians 6:3 ~ “For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.”

John 1:29 ~ “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the world.”

The Me Inside

Thou se’est the very worst of me.
Thou also se’est the person I want to be.
My life is laid bare before Your eyes.
There is a gap between the walk I take
And the one Thou desires for your child.
I desirest forever to walk in Thy ways.
Not choosing the ways of this world.
I must be ever watchful for the snares,
For Satan sees too my desires to serve,
And he seeks to wrestle and tempt me.
Your Holy Spirit often whispers to me
And makes me aware Satan is around.
The Spirit speaks unease to my soul
And in obedience I back right away
From things that are not aiding my soul.

        THANK YOU LORD

Your Holy Spirit

Gentle Spirit, you speak to me; you wake me up.
There need not be a gentle wind or babbling brook.
You often worry my mind, leading me to pray.
You’ve even given me names and what to say.

It is your stubborn love that will not leave me alone.
Sometimes in the night sleep from me is thrown.
I’ll lie awake a while and often talk to you.
“Speak to me Lord, what would you have me do?

I take my pen and paper that is lying there.
And write down things you would have me share.
Sometimes you are not specific as to the need.
Yet still I am urged by You to intercede.

It can occur at any time, both night and day.
The need for obedience is essential when I pray.
For I know if I should ignore a leading from You
Your voice will get softer until nothing comes through.

My Saviour, You suffered so, and then were crucified
And You rose again and You thought of us before you left.
You left your Spirit here to guide us in all things.

Our love for You has given us power and afforded us wings.

To Give and To Receive

There are loyal hearts; there are people brave.
There are souls that are caring, true and pure.
And you? Give to the world the best you have,
The best will come back to be returned to you.
Give love, and the love in your heart will flow.
God’s strength is there in your deepest need.
Have faith, and a score of hearts will show
To you, their faith in God’s place in your heart.
Dispense truth; your gift will be paid back in kind
And honour that is seen, and honour will be met
Two of God’s people connect in their mutual love.

Extend truth, and your gift will be paid in trust,
A smile that is just as warm and sweet to meet
Give sorrow and concern to those who mourn,
You will receive more when troubles plague you.
The seeds of caring in your thoughts out- bourne
Though you are sowing ask nothing in return
For the life that you lead surely note is taken
That you are exactly what you say and do.
The fragrance of God’s love has permeated others
God’s love will come flowing back to you.

Remember, you can never out-give the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 4:1 ~ “Furthermore then, we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.”
Proverbs 16: 9 ~ “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.”
Psalms 37:23 ~ “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.”

A New Year Wish

Health enough to make work a pleasure to treasure.
Wealthy enough to support all your basic needs.
Ability to recognize the difference between needs and greeds.
Strength enough to battle difficulties and to overcome them.
Grace enough to confess your sins, and with God’s help forsake them.
Patience enough to toil until severe good is accomplished.
Charity enough to see some good in your neighbour.
Love enough to move you to be useful and helpful to others.
Hope enough to remove all anxious faces around you.
Courage enough to face the New Year with God by your side.

Hosea 10:12
Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy. Break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the Lord, till He come and rain righteousness upon you.”

1 Thessalonians 4:1
Furthermore, when we beseech you, brethren, and exhort You by the Lord Jesus, that ye have received of us how ye should walk and to please God, so ye abound more and more.

Proverbs 3: 1 - 2
My son, forget not my law but let thine heart keep my commandments: for length of days, and long life, and peace, shalt they add to thee.

Proverbs 28:25
He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the Lord shall be made fat. He that trusteth his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
